Illustrating the Invisible: Giving Ideas Shape

Here's the thing with ideas: by themselves, they're invisible. They take being understood and acted upon to generate an impact we can see and experience.

What does that have to do with graphic design?

Or ideas?

Or illustrating the invisible?

A lot. (Really dug into my thesaurus for that one.)

Chances are high, as you're reading this, you can think of at least one idea you want to bring into the world. Maybe you have already done just that. Either way, as you know, or will know soon, when you bring your idea to others, there's a 99.999999% chance you'll encounter an obstacle: comprehension.

And it doesn't do your idea a lot of good if it can only be understood by you.

Other people have to get it – "catch the vision" as the business world might say – for your idea to have an impact.

Many people, in an attempt to be understood, can focus on their words and scripts and miss another potent form of communication.

Remember that old phrase, a picture is worth a thousand words?

If you're a dreamer, business owner, writer, speaker...you've got your thousand words.

And you've probably said them a thousand times.

And whether you've been understood or not, I believe you're sitting on treasure.

Sometimes all it takes is a picture to help other people recognize the value you're bringing to the table.

And that's where Inklivity comes in.

I love hearing my clients' ideas. Championing their ideas. Watching something that was once invisible and vague become crisp and clear. It feels like magic.

If you've got an invisible treasure you're ready to share with others, I want to hear from you.
